The emotional turmoil or the legal process of divorce can be a grueling process that can destroy the ability to make good decisions.
There are multiple areas of change: family, friends, in-laws, grandparents, children, relationships as a couple, housing, healthcare, education, health, wellbeing, identity and more.
There is the aspect of the intensity of emotions: Denial, resistance, anger, numbness, isolation, aloneness, shame, getting even, etc.
In my practice, I believe that women contemplating or undergoing divorce need ongoing help in obtaining clarity while obtaining all the financial information they can. During this massive transiton, my job is twofold. I offer ongoing support to women in moving on from the stages of grief to reclaiming their self-confidence, self-esteem and empowerment and I focus on what women need to do to protect their financial future before, during and after their marriage.
